ILS paper cites gov’t and stakeholders’ roles in providing jobs for PWDs

The Institute for Labor Studies research titled, “Employment Mainstreaming of Workers with Disability” was presented during the Government Partners Forum on Access to Employment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) last July 20 at the Eurotel Hotel in Quezon City.

The said forum was in celebration of the 38th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDRP) Week with the theme, “Karapatan ng Maykapansanan, Isakatuparan, Now Na!”

ILS gears up for ISO audit

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is gearing up for its upcoming International Organization for Standardization (ISO) quality audit which is scheduled on November 14.

ILS received its ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems (QMS) certification last March 18, 2016 from Anglo Japanese American (AJA) Registrars Philippines, Inc., an independent third party registrar (certification body) operating from a global network of offices offering third party registration and training services at a local level.

ILS conducts consultations on gap analysis of ILO Conventions No. 81 and No. 129

The Institute for Labor and Studies (ILS) conducted its area-wide consultations on the gap analysis of ILO Convention No. 129 or the convention concerning labor inspection in Agriculture, and No. 81 or the convention concerning labor inspection in industry and commerce) held on July 25, 27 and 29 respectively in Metro Davao, Metro Cebu, and Metro Manila.

ILS turns 29

One year shy of three decades of existence, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) has shown that it has kept faith with its function in terms of producing researches and other knowledge products on labor and employment to aid, not only the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the crafting of its policies, but also labor policymakers, planners, advocates and workers.

ILS project highlighted during the DOLE Turnover Ceremony

The ILS project on Human Resource Development mapping of the 22 key industries was highlighted by outgoing Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz in her report to incoming Secretary Silvestre Bello III during the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Turnover Ceremony last July 1, 2016 at the Local Governance Learning Center.

ILS marks Pride Month with talent showcase of employees

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) marks the Pride Month Celebration in the country with a showcase of talents of its employees, featured as an activity of their 2016 Team Building held on June 16-17 in Alaminos City, Pangasinan.

The Pride Month celebration is an annual global observance of the long years of struggle for diversity, inclusion and equality led by lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender individuals (LGBTQ) and their allies.
