Manila – Researches from the Institute for Labor Studies presented their research findings on the ratification of ILO Convention 190 which focused on a world of work free from violence and harassment. The presentation was made during the 2021 National Tripartite Feedback eForum towards the Ratification of ILO Convention C.190 via the Cisco Webex online meeting platform held last February 19.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies received its Bronze Award PRIME-HRM (Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management) plaque of recognition from the Civil Service Commission for having met the Level 2-Maturity indicators in all of the four (4) core HRM systems under CSC resolution 2000115 dated January 21, 2020.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) recently received great news from the Chairperson of the Administrative Order 25 Technical Working Group (AO25 IATF) affirming the Institute’s compliance with the requirements outlined in the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPBMS) and the agency’s qualification for the grant of the 2019 Performance-Based Bonus.

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies Employees Association has chosen its set of officers in its very first online poll, which opened from January 12 and closed on January 14 at 10 am.

Based on the results of the election, all current ILSEA officers were unanimously re-elected for another one-year term as follows: Workers’ Welfare Research Division (WWRD) Chief Maria Isabel D. Artajo as President, Advocacy and Publications Division (APD) Labor and Employment Officer III Marc Raphael A. Peñaredondo as Vice-President, WWRD Senior LEO Malorie Joy O. Mones as Secretary, Finance and Administrative (FAD) Division Procurement Officer Levie F. Mariano as Treasurer, FAD Accountant Ivy A. Castronuevo as Auditor and Labor and Social Relations Research Division (LSRRD) LEO III Franchesca Rose S. Castillo as Public Relations Officer.

Manila – Through the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Administrative Order No. 23, s. 2021, Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer-Teodosio is back in her role as the Institute for Labor Studies’ (ILS) Deputy Executive Director after the completion of her Job Enrichment Program from DOLE-National Capital Region and DOLE-PAPAMAMARISAN (Pasig, Pateros, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan) Field Office respectively.

Manila – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB), and the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) have released the names of the Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) national experts in connection with the project titled, “Public Campaign for Safe and Fair Migration in the ASEAN Region.”

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies successfully closed its ILS Revive & Thrive webinar series with webinar #10 titled “Sustainable societies: Pathways to inclusive and ecologically responsible development” via Zoom last December 15.

Organized by the Employment Research Division, led by its Acting Chief Paulina Kim D. Pacete, the webinar focused on how everyone can contribute to environmental sustainability while educating its viewers about the urgent need for action on environmental degradation and climate change to achieve a future with decent work.

Manila – Researchers from the Institute for Labor Studies recently completed the preliminary online validation meetings for their 2020 researches held during the third and fourth week of December.

With the current challenges bought by COVID-19 preventive protocols, which limit the usual face-to-face convention type of research validation proceedings, the three technical divisions of the Institute respectively held individual online validation meetings for their researches using Zoom.

Manila – Despite the on-going pandemic, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) continues with its commitment to advocate for mental health and aptly starts it in its turf.

Members of the ILS Gender and Development (GAD) Committee led an online event titled, “Mental Health and Transformative Ecosystem Change Workshop” via Zoom last December 18. The event aimed to shed light on the mental health factors and challenges that the Institute’s employees have faced during the pandemic, with the aim of crafting a tailored mental health policy for ILS promoting a safer and more productive working environment.

The Institute for Labor Studies Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee named its 2019/2020 awardees in a virtual ceremony via Zoom on December 23.

The annual ILS PRAISE awards is in line with the Institutes’ annual Rewards and Recognition activity, which aims to uphold ILS core values by rewarding, recognizing, and providing incentives to employees who have shown exemplary and excellent performance and behavior in their delivery of service for Filipino workers.
