ILS and Rosehall Hold Management Orientation for ISO Certification

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) with the assistance of Rosehall Management Consultants, Inc., represented by Mr. James Empeño, held a Management Orientation and Setting of Quality Objectives workshop on 28 May 2014 at the Miramar Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

The workshop aimed (1) to give the ILS an overview of ISO 9001:2008 and (2) to guide the participants in formulating the institute’s quality policy and objectives. The workshop highlighted the importance of knowing the institute’s customers as well as their needs and requirements.

ILS hosted an orientation on e-consultation on labor and employment regulations

In view of the implementation of DOLE e-Rulemaking web portal, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) hosted an orientation session on “E-Consultation: The e-Rulemaking Web Portal as an Illustration” on 30 April 2014 at the Migration Information Resource Center (MIRC), Intramuros, Manila.

Facilitated by Mr. Malvin Dinlasan, ADB Consultant on e-Regulations project, the session sought to orient the participants on the project design, and on the use of Content Management System (CMS) platform for content migration. The primary objective of the session is to maximize user adoption of the eRulemaking portal and system.

ILS readies for ISO certification

ASPIRING TO GET ISO CERTIFICATION THIS YEAR, the Institute for Labor Studies underwent a QMS Initial Assessment last 7 May 2014 that was conducted by Mr. James Empeno of Rosahall Management Consultancy Inc.

The core research teams and support divisions underwent an initial assessment of its primary functions to identify the core processes that will be included in the QMS enrollment.

DOLE starts reviewing the 2013 LEP progress report

In line with monitoring the progress made by the DOLE and its social partners under the Philippine Labor and Employment Plan (LEP) 2011-2016, a Tripartite Validation Workshop was held on 15 May 2014 at the Institute for Labor Studies, Intramuros, Manila.

ILS completes its 2015-2017 IS Plan

In line with the Government-Wide Medium Term Information and Communications Technology Harmonization Initative (MITHI), the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is in the process of finalizing its Information System Strategic Plan (ISSP) for 2015-2017.

ILS participates in DOLE-ADB RIA training

THE INSTITUTE FOR Labor Studies, along with other offices and bureaus of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), participated in the three-day Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) Seminar Workshop conducted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from March 12 to 14, 2014 at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City.

ILS joins human chain formation, lines up activities for Women’s Month 2014

WITH THE THEME, “Juana ang Tatag mo ay Tatag natin sa pagbangon at pagsulong,” the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), together with all the offices, bureaus and attached agencies of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), participated in the celebration of Women’s Month 2014, organized by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) last March 8, 2014 at the Quirino Grandstand, Luneta Park, Manila.

ILS holds technical learning sessions on gender mainstreaming in labor policy research

In celebration of Women’s Month 2014, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) held two technical learning sessions on gender-oriented policy researches and gender-sensitive governance last March 20, 2014 at the Migration Information Resource Center (MIRC), DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.

The technical learning sessions discussed on the women’s issues and concerns that could be mainstreamed in the labor and employment policymaking processes and integrated into the DOLE’s Gender and Development (GAD) programs.

ILS sends Staff to Join DOLE Task Force Yolanda Mission

The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) started sending its technical staff and personnel last January 6, 2013 to help and assist in the implementation of the emergency employment and livelihood programs of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan in Region VIII, particularly in the provinces of Leyte and Samar.

ILS Tops 2013 GODP Award!

The Institute for Labor Studies was hailed as one of the top five winners of the 2013 Green our DOLE Program (GODP) Award during a ceremony on December 8, 2013. The award was handed down by Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz and Executive Director Teresita Cucueco of the Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC).
