ILS celebrates its 30th founding anniversary

Manila, Philippines – “For this occasion, you have succinctly suggested the need for ‘masusi, makbago, at makabuluhang pananaliksik.’ This is at the very least, an appropriate theme on account of the enormous tasks that the Department must undertake. I expect no less than the best from the men and women of the ILS to accomplish our agenda, especially in the field of policy research and advocacy.”

7 students complete ILS’ INTERNi program

Another batch of INTERNi graduates successfully completed their Internship Program from the Institute for Labor Studies in July 2017

The following interns for this semester are: Adrian Paul C. Catalogo, Rachel Hannah D. Lugtu, Gene Allen A. Rodriguez, and Billy D. Solano, Bachelor of Arts in Social Science-Area Studies from the University of the Philippines, Manila; Herschel Louise M. Barcelon, AB Political Science from the University of Santo Tomas; Cesar Clarence D. Contreras, Juris Doctor from Ateneo Law School; and Ezekiel John M. Evardo, Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

ILS conducts training on research ethics

The Institute for Labor Studies conducted the “Training on Research Ethics: Sensitivity in the Conduct of Policy Research Involving Human Subjects” last July 07, 2017 at the iLearn Conference Room, DOLE Building in Intramuros, Manila.

The training reiterated the importance of research ethics and protocol, especially in conducting researches that entail participatory approach.

ILS researches featured in ‘Lab-Eco’ publication

Manila – Key research outputs from the Institute for Labor Studies were featured in the book “Labor Economics” by Economics Professor Danilo F. Marcelo, Jr. from the Pamantasan ng Lunsod ng Maynila, published by Unlimited Books and was released in July 2017.

ILS receives AGAP trophy as 2014 ‘best accounting office”

Named as one of 2014 “Best Accounting Offices” by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP), Inc., the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) receives its trophy at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) office in San Miguel, Manila last July 27, 2016.

ILS highlights preliminary results on SPES study

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies presented the preliminary results of its endline survey for the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) impact evaluation during the meeting of the DOLE-Technical Working Group (DOLE-TWG) last June 9 at the Institute’s iLearn Conference Room in Intramuros, Manila.

ILS participates in Philippine Independence Day Parade

Manila, Philippines – Employees from Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participated in the Independence Day Parade dubbed as “Parada ng Kalayaan” last June 12, in celebration of the 119th Philippine Independence Day at the Quirino Grandstand, Rizal Park, Manila.

The Independence Day Parade was led by Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, together with senior officials from the military, executive and legislative branches of the government.

ILS shares labor policy knowledge with DAP graduate students
