ILS Design Thinking Olympics engages six DOLE regional offices

The ILS Design Thinking Olympics is now in full swing and has engaged six regional offices of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

The six participating DOLE regional offices are the National Capital Region, and Regions III, IV-A, VI, VII, and XI.

ILS releases results of the July 2017 Labor Force Survey (LFS) Round

The Institute for Labor Studies has released its report on the results of the July 2017 LFS round, which indicated some decent work gains, particularly in terms of generating quality employment.

The report discusses employment gains in public administration, construction, manufacturing, and IT-BPM related sectors. It also shows that while employment contracted by 1.9% year-on-year (from 40.954 million in July 2016 to 40.170 million in July 2017), underemployment rate notably eased to 16.3% from 17.4% over the same period.

ILS in Green Jobs growth dialogue

ILS OIC-Executive Director represents the Department of Labor and Employment in ASEAN Forum on Green Jobs

Manila – Institute for Labor Studies OIC-Executive Director Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer served as the official representative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the ASEAN Forum on Green Jobs Promotion held last September 14-15 at The Bazaar Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

Atty. Riguer moderated Session II of the forum with the theme, “Experiences Sharing: Our Transition to Greener Business,” where a panel of business leaders from Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam talked about their sustainability solutions.

ILS promotes Green Jobs Law in PBE forum

Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) joined the “Consultation Session on Low-Emission Development Strategy (LEDS) and Forum on Green Jobs” held on September 29 at the Tycoon Centre, Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The event was organized by the Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE).
