QUEZON CITY – Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) researcher, Athena Mari E. Son, was interviewed last November 16, 2023 on the topic of GenZ workers, on the radio program TeleRadyo Serbisyo hosted by Amy Perez. 

TAGUIG – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), together with the International Labor Organization (ILO), held discussions with SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) and with the Aboitiz Group on 09 November 2023 as part of the updating of the National Green Jobs Human Resource Development Plan 2020-2030 and in support of the preparations of the Philippine delegation to the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties (COP 28) climate negotiations.  

Quezon City – The International Labour Organization, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment – Occupational Safety and Health Center, conducted a public launch of “Safety and Health at Sea” board game on OSH for fishing and seafood sectors on November 21, at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City.

MANILA – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) has started preparations for the forthcoming 12th DOLE Research Conference to be held on November 28-29, 2023 (hybrid set-up) and on December 13-14, 2023 (full online).

MANILA – In celebration of the 2023 United Nations Month, the Institute for Labor Studies with the Department of Labor and Employment officials attend the Women’s Leadership and Democracy forum organized by the United Nations in the Philippines and sponsored by the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Population Fund, and UN Women on October 17 at Westin Hotel, Manila.

MANILA – Together with the Department of Labor and Employment, the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) fully supported the celebration of the 2023 National Statistics Month (NSM) via a host of activities, among of which is a radio guesting in Radyo Pilipinas – Serbisyo sa Radyo last 30 September 2023. OIC-Executive Director Jeanette T. Damo underscored the importance of data and statistics in the Department’s policy research endeavors and evidence-based policy making.

QUEZON CITY – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS), together with the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), successfully conducted a consultative workshop with the Department of Energy (DOE) and other national government agencies last October 16, at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.

MANILA – In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, the Institute for Labor Studies staff and student interns conduct an outreach program for the beneficiaries housed in Hospicio de San Jose in Barangay 663, District 5 in Manila on October 6.

MANILA – Institute for Labor Studies researchers Athena Mari E. Son and Chelsea Nicole Pineda presented their working paper, “Labor Market Trends 2016 to 2022: Prospects & Challenges,” at the recent 2nd Philippine Data Festival of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), offering practical insights into the dynamic Philippine labor market.

MANILA – Institute for Labor Studies representative Mr. Bernard Paul M. Mangulabnan, Officer-In-Charge and Chief Labor and Employment Officer of the Employment Research Division, served as one of the resource speakers for the E-Forum on Greening the TVET System: Green Initiatives for Greening the Economy held last October 17-18, via Zoom online conference.
